PLEASE READ FULL PAGE!!! To ensure the best possible results, permanent makeup works best when your skin is healthy and ready for treatment. During consultations I take the time to carefully review your lifestyle, skincare routine, and any health considerations—because your safety and satisfaction mean everything to me! Please check out the list below to see if you might have any contradictions to permanent make up.

REquirEMENTs…

  • Hormonal changes during and after pregnancy can affect how well your skin holds pigment, so it’s best to give your body a little time to rebalance. We recommend waiting a few months after giving birth or finishing nursing. When you’re ready, feel free to pre-book your appointment— I’d love to see you when the time is right.

  • Autoimmune disorders can affect the healing and results of permanent makeup due to a compromised immune system. My priority is your safety, and it's important to note that results may vary depending on the specific condition.

  • Exposure to UV rays can significantly compromise the integrity of the skin, particularly in the context of permanent makeup procedures. I will not proceed with treatment on skin that is tanned or sunburned, as it is considered to be in a damaged state. Additionally, altered pigmentation makes it difficult to accurately assess your natural skin tone, which can result in poor color retention, pigment distortion, or blurred outcomes.

  • If you are prone to developing keloids or hypertrophic scarring, permanent cosmetic procedures are not recommended. Due to the risk of raised scarring, particularly on the face, it is safest to avoid treatment to protect your skin’s long-term health and appearance.

  • Unfortunately, the more your skin bleeds during a procedure, the less pigment retention you will have.  Due to increased blood flow, your pigment stands a high chance of not retaining.

  • LIGHTENING / BRIGHTENING / TIGHTENING PRODUCTS- The use of these products causes increased cell renewal and leaves the skin sensitive.  Stopping use at least one month prior to your service is required. Please note, the use of these products after tattooing will cause lightening and potential color change.

  • Letting your results wear off before you see us for a brow appointment so we can see your natural brow symmetry and muscle movement. You’re free to resume Botox or the like once you’re healed from both brow treatments!

  • Absolutely no Accutane use within one year of treatment. No exceptions.

  • Your health is our top priority; we ask that you wait at least 6 months after completing treatment before scheduling permanent makeup. If you’d like to have it done before your treatment begins, please allow a full 12 weeks from start to finish to complete both sessions safely.

  • If you have oily or very oily skin, microblading usually isn’t the best choice because the pigment will not hold well. However, fully shaded techniques like ombré / powder brows can work great for oily skin types. It’s important to know that oily skin tends to cause the pigment to fade faster over time, so you might need more frequent touch-ups to keep your brows looking fresh if you decide to go for it!

  • Thin or mature skin is associated with an increased risk of bleeding, pigment diffusion, and reduced retention in permanent makeup procedures. For optimal results, a fully shaded technique such as powder brows is recommended.

  • Like many anti-aging ingredients, facial resurfacing treatments can thin the skin. Procedures such as laser therapy, chemical peels, and other resurfacing techniques may hinder pigment retention or result in blurred and cooler-toned outcomes.
